Learning to Let Go

One of my greatest problems in life is dwelling on issues and the past.
I think too much about what should be and how it is, instead of just living life.

While I am obsessing and worrying over mistakes I have made, or dwelling on what other people have done, some of my friends have learned to just ignore the bad.

I wish to become oblivious, (almost) to what I consider to be the harmful and useless hurt that is slapped around in life.

Rudeness is clearly displayed in high school, and people aren't afraid to dis you...right to your face.

Embarrassing, right?

I wish people never were jealous. I wish we could all be nice to each other.  I wish competition was all fun and games, and not so competitive that it turns from a hose of sprinkling fun in the hot summertime to a slithering snake that can choke emotional bonds and friendships.

I wish I wasn't affected by others actions, at least the bad ones!

In an effort to mask and cover up insecurities, teenagers say impolite things and act prideful, as if they are all that.

Really, nobody is all that.

Nobody is perfect, no matter how hard you make it try to seem.

But that's why we all need to complement each other and make the people next to us....
(no matter who they are)
feel like they are worth it,

like they are absolutely beautiful in our eyes,
that they are the champions of life, of love, of happiness, and success.

I love you my daughter so much! You are so insightful, aware, forgiving and probably the most devoted friend a friend of yours could ever have. If the world had more young women like you filling it's capacities, it really would be a better place and we would all just be happy and enjoy each other as we are. It's too bad that some don't recognize your potential in themselves and allow themselves to be filled with your emanating love and deep inner beauty! To know you and to be your friend makes us that much better! You are a daughter of a divine God and you definitely are worth something to me and anyone who takes the time to really see you! I see you!!
