I Mees

I miss Hawaii.

And

Costa Rica.

I miss digging my toes in the warm sand, gazing at the purple and orange sunsets, walking along the roads at night with my family, getting my hair braided at the beach, talking to locals, shopping in cute little touristy shops, going to Musmanni, our host family, the little 3 year old that was in love with me, the rose I was given at the market, horseback riding by the ocean, walking to Volcano Arenal, and hiking to waterfalls and up in the canopies of rainforest's on bridges.

I miss hearing the birds chirp wherever I went.  I miss going to spanish school, and I miss taking the bus everywhere.  I remember the time that it took my family and I FOREVER to ride the bus because we didn't know we were supposed to wave the bus down.

I miss traveling to little local cities with huge crickets.  I miss swimming in the ocean and searching for turtles at Haunama Bay.  I miss swimming right next to them.

I miss jumping over the tides.  I miss the smell of the humid air.  I miss staying in our once ant infested house, where the iguana lived on the tin roof.  I miss chasing an iguana down a long dirt road with huge tropical trees.  I miss feeling the air.

Sometimes, I smell something that reminds me of Costa Rica, and it brings back such great memories.  I love it there.

I miss walking everywhere.  I miss being able to go outside without a jacket.  I miss wearing sundresses everywhere.  I miss the language.

I also miss staying in Hawaii.  I miss visiting the beautiful temple.  I miss my chair that curls in humidity.  I miss going on night walks on the beach, discovering Portuguese man of war everywhere, and crabs eating them.  I miss jumping off that cliff in to the ocean.  I miss falling asleep in the bright sun.

Phew.  This is one long post of miss's.  Sorry if it was so lame to read.  And if you read the whole thing, it must've not been that lame.

Of course, missing things only means that I have marvelous memories to ponder upon and reminisce of.
